Former Hockey Night in Canada commentator recounts his firing

On March 14th, 1987, Hockey Night in Canada host Dave Hodge was fired after CBC cut away from live sports -- twice -- during a broadcast. Hodge recently spoke out about his firing, saying that he believes it was the start of the Ron Maclean era.

Hodge was born on January 8, 1945, and is a Canadian sports announcer. He worked for TSN, the CBC, and CFRB 1010 radio in Toronto.
